Originating from Europe, mint it spread to North America, Australia and Japan
In olden days it was cultivated for its medicinal proprieties, the Jews made a sacred drink from it.

Cultivation:
Mint is cultivated all over the world. 
In France, it is harvested from June to September

Favourite recipes:
There are more than 200 types of  mint, but the most known are:
- Green mint which is widely used as an aromatic herb with fruit and vegetables (taboulé, aubergines, tomatoes...).
- Peppermint which is cultivated for pharmaceutical purposes.

Uses:
It is preferable not to associate mint with other aromas, but it can be delicious with lemon. Gives aroma to vinaigrettes et mayonnaises.
