The Egyptians used marjoram to embalm the dead for the passage to the Gods, up to the first century of our era, it was recommended to facilitate digestion.
Cultivation:
Marjoram is a spice originated form the east Mediterranean regions, which is cultivated in the whole of Europe.
In France, it is harvested from July to September
Uses:
Marjoram’s fresh leaves are used on their own or with other herbs to add flavour to many dishes (pizza, ragout, tomato sauces, soups ...). its aroma is more delicate than oregano being closer to thyme.
Need to be dried in order to preserve its aroma.
