Description:
Lemongrass originates from the South of India and Sri Lanka. There are about fifty types of this plant from the tropical and temperate regions.
Cultivation:
Lemongrass can be found in the whole of the south-east Asia, but also in India, in Africa, in Australia, in South America and some parts of the United States.
Uses:
Only the base of the stalks of lemon grass is consumed as the top part is too fibrous
It goes well with garlic, ginger, coriander, coconut.
Lemongrass is the ingredient of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.
Its stalks, cut in disks, are used to flavour salads, bouillons, ragouts and sauces.
