Description:
Gardencress is also called "herb of Sainte-Barbe" because its leaves remain green up to Sainte Barbe (4th December).
It is also called "winter cress", "carpenter’s herb" or "yellow julienne".
It originates from Europe but now it can be found in North America, Oceania, in Asia and in North Africa.
Cultivation:
This plant is unassuming and could be mistaken for a weed .
Its cultivation is not at all difficult.
The leaves can be picked up to December.
Uses:
Cress leaves have a bitter, slightly hot flavour.
They are used in salads or soups.
